Our Quality

We use 14 karat gold-fill or sterling silver for all of our pieces. This not only makes them hypo-allergenic, but also durable and non-tarnishing.

What is Gold-fill?
There are three main types of gold jewelry on the market: pure gold, gold fill, and gold plated.

  • Pure Gold: Pure gold is 100% gold all throughout the piece. These pieces of jewelry are lovely and great for those exceptional occasions, but they also come with a hefty price tag.
  • Gold Fill: Gold-filled is a USA industry standard that legally requires a jewelry piece to be 1/20th (or 5%) pure gold by weight! To create gold-filled jewelry, you pressure-bond multiple layers of 14k solid gold to a jeweler’s brass core using extreme heat. It’s a strictly regulated process that creates a durable, high-quality piece made with real gold…without the solid gold price tag. It won’t tarnish and will not rub off or turn colors. Wearers who are sensitive to certain metals can wear gold filled without worries of an allergic reaction, unless they are allergic to gold itself. Gold filled jewelry can be worn even daily without fear of fading or rubbing off for many cases as long as 30 years.
  • Gold Plated: Gold-plated jewelry is the most common due to its affordability. Gold-plated has a significantly thinner layer of gold than gold filled and often tarnishes or rubs off after some time.

Ginger & Pearl Jewelry is dedicated to providing quality and affordable jewelry, so we use gold-fill and sterling silver, enabling you to enjoy luxurious pieces every day.
